Appeal for Unity in the Church

1 Corinthians 1:10-17

1
Chapter 1
10 Now I exhort you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and in the same judgment. 11 For it was made known to me about you, my brothers, by those of Chloe's household, that there are quarrels among you. 12 Now I say this, that each of you says, "I am of Paul," "I am of Apollos," "I am of Cephas," "I am of Christ." 13 Has Christ been divided? Was Paul crucified for you, or were you baptized into the name of Paul? 14 I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius, 15 so that no one may say that you were baptized into my name. 16 I also baptized the household of Stephanas. As for the rest, I do not know whether I baptized anyone else. 17 For Christ did not send me to baptize but to proclaim the gospel, not in wisdom of words, so that the cross of Christ might not be emptied.
